The most popular area is just south of the 4WD access ramp at Mudlo Rocks or at double Island point. Double Island Point (DIP) has the longest break in Australia (when the swell lines up). If you love the wonderful peace and relaxation of sailing or cruising, the sheltered waters of the Great Sandy Strait are for you. FISHING
Probably one of Rainbow's greatest attractions would have to be the abundant, opportunity for fishing.Fishing, in all its styles, is available right on our doorstep. Beach fishing has unlimited scope with nearly 100 km of beach to choose from. Varieties include Bream, Whiting, Tailor, Dart, Jew and Flathead. Estuarine fishing in Tin Can Bay Inlet, through the Inskip Point area and up the Great Sandy Strait is perfect for those with a boat or the wish to hire one. Access is from an efficient boat ramp at Carlo Point. Another ramp is located at Bullock Point.

The reefs off Rainbow Beach yield Red Emperor, Sweet Lip, Snapper, Pearl Perch, Parrot and Coral Trout. For the rock-fishing enthusiast, Double Island Point can produce some very rewarding catches For the crab lovers, Tin Can Bay Inlet can give you a feed.
GOLF
There is a par 3, 9 hole golf course in the beautiful surroundings of Rainbow Shores Resort. Members of the public are very welcome. An 18 hole course is also available at Tin Can Bay.BOWLS
There is a bowling green at the Rainbow Beach Sports Recreation & Memorial Club where visitors are welcome. There are two more greens at Tin Can Bay.TENNIS
